Exiled Exchange 2 Minimizes POE 2? Fix Focus Issues

If Exiled Exchange 2 minimizes Path of Exile 2, steals focus, or exposes another window during a price check, the usual causes are exclusive Fullscreen, permission mismatch, another overlay, shortcut behaviour, or multi-monitor placement.
The official requirements support Windowed Fullscreen and Windowed modes. Exclusive Fullscreen is not supported.
Open POE 2 display settings, change Fullscreen to Windowed Fullscreen, apply, and restart the game and Exiled Exchange 2. Graphics optimization tools can silently restore Fullscreen after an update, so verify it even if you changed it before.
In exclusive Fullscreen, activating an overlay window can force the game to minimize. Windowed Fullscreen avoids that display-mode transition.
Exiled Exchange 2 normally does not need administrator rights. If POE 2 runs as administrator while the overlay does not, Windows can block window and input access. Run both at the same privilege level, preferably normally.
Do not disable User Account Control to solve a focus issue.
Temporarily close Discord, Steam, NVIDIA or AMD overlays, Xbox Game Bar, recording software, other POE tools, clipboard managers, and global shortcut utilities. Test, then reopen them one at a time.
Ctrl + D opens the normal price-check window, which hides automatically after normal mouse movement. Hold Ctrl while moving the pointer inside if you want to interact with it.
Ctrl + Alt + D opens a persistent window. If the normal hide behaviour feels like a focus problem, compare both shortcuts. See our hotkeys guide.
Mixed scaling and disconnected displays can place the overlay off-screen or move focus unexpectedly.
Closing the visible window may leave Exiled Exchange 2 in the tray. Starting it again can appear to do nothing because the original process still owns the overlay. Quit it completely in the tray or Task Manager and launch one instance.
The official troubleshooting documentation recommends current GPU drivers, particularly when Vulkan behaves differently from DirectX11 or DirectX12. Update from the GPU manufacturer and restart.
Reproduce the issue once, then review logs for overlay creation, game-window detection, clipboard polling, shortcut registration, renderer errors, and local-server failures. Remove personal information before sharing logs.
The official troubleshooting sequence recommends resetting application data as a later step. Back up the apt-data configuration first.
On Windows the documented directory is %APPDATA%\exiled-exchange-2. Quit the application, rename the directory, test clean state, and restore only necessary settings if the problem disappears.
Download the current stable release from the official project page, preserve configuration, reinstall, use Windowed Fullscreen, and test before restoring other overlays.
Use one monitor if possible, Windowed Fullscreen, normal permissions, no other overlays, the default shortcut, a common item, and a current GPU driver. Restore one variable at a time until the problem returns.
Exclusive Fullscreen is the leading cause. Change to Windowed Fullscreen, then check permissions and conflicts.
The overlay may close and expose the previous active window. Close background windows and test with one monitor.
Only match the game’s privilege level. If POE 2 runs normally, run the overlay normally.
Only if files or state are damaged. Display mode and overlay conflicts are more common.
Use Windowed Fullscreen, match permissions, close competing overlays, test Ctrl + Alt + D, reset monitor placement, update drivers, check logs, and back up configuration before resetting it.
