POE 2 Exiled Exchange 2: Accurate Setup and Price Check Guide

Exiled Exchange 2 is a community-developed overlay for Path of Exile 2 that helps players check item prices. It is a fork of Awakened PoE Trade and is maintained in the official Kvan7/Exiled-Exchange-2 repository.

This guide focuses on workflows supported by the real project: safe installation, launching the overlay, copying an item, selecting relevant modifiers, and interpreting trade search results. It does not claim that the tool automatically trades, predicts guaranteed prices, imports an entire stash, or detects market manipulation.

Independent guide: Exiled-exchange2.com is not the official Exiled Exchange 2 website. Download the application only from the official project page or official GitHub Releases.

What Exiled Exchange 2 Does

The tool runs alongside Path of Exile 2 and displays an overlay when you invoke its price-check action on a copied item. The official repository showcases checks for gems, rare items, unique items, and currency.

A normal workflow is:

  1. Hover over an item in Path of Exile 2.
  2. Use the configured price-check shortcut.
  3. Review the item information detected by the overlay.
  4. Select or clear modifiers that should affect the comparison.
  5. Review matching trade results.
  6. Compare several listings before choosing a price.

The result is a search aid, not a guaranteed appraisal. A listing price is what a seller asks; it does not prove that an item sold at that price.

Download and Install Exiled Exchange 2

Use an Official Download

The maintainer identifies only two official download locations:

Avoid installers from advertisements, file-sharing sites, copied repositories, or unofficial mirrors. A similar domain name is not proof of authenticity.

Installation Steps

  1. Open the official Releases page.
  2. Choose the latest stable release rather than a prerelease unless you intend to test it.
  3. Download the Windows setup executable from the release assets.
  4. Close older trading overlays if they are running.
  5. Run the installer.
  6. Launch Exiled Exchange 2.
  7. Start Path of Exile 2.
  8. Confirm that the overlay reports that it has loaded.

Windows may ask for confirmation because the application is a desktop overlay. Verify the repository and release source instead of disabling protection broadly. Our download page provides navigation help but should direct users to the official installer.

Configure the Tool Before Price Checking

Confirm the Game and League

Make sure the selected environment matches the character you are playing. Results from another league can have very different supply and prices.

If results look wrong, confirm:

  • Path of Exile 2 is the selected game context
  • The correct league is selected
  • The client language is configured correctly
  • The official trade service is available
  • The application version is current

Choose a Shortcut

Use a shortcut that does not conflict with Windows, Path of Exile 2, another overlay, or graphics software. Defaults can change between versions, so rely on the settings shown by your installed release rather than an old screenshot.

Position the Overlay

Adjust the overlay so it does not cover important game UI. If it opens on the wrong monitor or outside the visible area, check Windows scaling and monitor arrangement, then restart the tool.

How to Price Check an Item

Step 1: Hover Over the Item

Open an inventory, stash, or supported item view and place the cursor over the item. The game must be able to copy its item text.

Step 2: Invoke Price Check

Press the configured shortcut. Exiled Exchange 2 reads the copied item information and prepares a trade comparison.

If nothing happens, test whether the game can copy the item text, check shortcut conflicts, and confirm the overlay is running.

Step 3: Review Parsed Properties

Verify the detected item:

  • Name or base type
  • Rarity
  • Item level when relevant
  • Quality when relevant
  • Gem level when relevant
  • Explicit modifiers
  • Sockets or other searchable properties

A parsing error produces an irrelevant search. Do not rely on the results until the detected information matches the item.

Step 4: Select Meaningful Modifiers

Checking every rare-item modifier exactly can return no results. Checking too few can compare the item with much weaker alternatives.

Start with the modifiers that drive demand for that slot. Then broaden or narrow the search:

  • Remove a low-impact modifier when there are no comparisons
  • Keep build-defining or unusually strong modifiers
  • Adjust numeric ranges instead of requiring an exact roll
  • Compare the base separately when useful

There is no universal weighting formula. Modifier value depends on build, slot, league economy, available alternatives, and current demand.

Step 5: Compare Listings

Do not copy the first visible price. Review several close comparisons and consider:

  • How closely their rolls match
  • Whether listings are recent
  • Whether one seller posted many suspiciously cheap items
  • How many comparable items exist
  • Whether prices form a consistent cluster
  • Whether a cheaper item has a meaningful disadvantage

The overlay creates the search; the player interprets the market.

Price Checking Different Item Types

Currency

Currency is generally easier to compare because units are interchangeable, but quantities and exchange direction still matter. Confirm the league and ratio before acting.

Unique Items

The item name may not be enough. Important rolls, quality, sockets, and corruption status can change value. Compare genuinely similar versions.

Rare Items

Rare-item pricing is subjective. Select the few modifiers that define practical use, inspect comparable combinations, and do not treat one outlier as the market price.

Gems

Gem level, quality, corruption, and special variants can materially affect price. Verify each relevant property before comparing results.

Why a Price Check May Look Wrong

Wrong League

Different leagues have different economies. Correct the league and repeat the search.

Search Is Too Narrow

Exact values across many modifiers can produce zero matches. Relax ranges or remove secondary modifiers one at a time.

Search Is Too Broad

Searching only by base type can mix ordinary and powerful items. Add the most important modifiers and properties.

Stale or Misleading Listings

Very cheap listings can be stale, accidental, or misleading. Review multiple results and listing ages. Exiled Exchange 2 does not certify a seller or listing as trustworthy.

Incorrect Parsing

Language settings, game updates, or new item data may affect parsing. Update the application and search the official issue tracker if a reproducible item consistently fails.

Troubleshooting

The Shortcut Does Nothing

  1. Confirm Exiled Exchange 2 is running.
  2. Make Path of Exile 2 the active window.
  3. Test a different shortcut.
  4. Close other programs that capture the same keys.
  5. Restart the overlay and game.
  6. Check the official FAQ and existing issues.

It Opens for Path of Exile 1

Users migrating Awakened PoE Trade settings should verify the saved windowTitle. The official README instructs migrated users to change it from Path of Exile to Path of Exile 2.

The Overlay Is Blank or Off-Screen

Check display scaling, monitor arrangement, and whether it was last positioned on a disconnected monitor. Restart after correcting the display settings.

No Results Appear

Confirm network access, league, parsed item data, and trade-service availability. Broaden an overly specific query before assuming the application is broken.

Consult the official FAQ, search official GitHub issues, or review our FAQ.

Moving from Awakened PoE Trade

The official repository documents a migration process that copies the apt-data folder from the Awakened PoE Trade application-data directory into the Exiled Exchange 2 directory, then updates the game window title.

Back up both folders first. Configuration formats can change, so follow the current official README rather than an old third-party copy.

What the Tool Does Not Promise

Exiled Exchange 2 should not be described as:

  • An automated trading bot
  • A guaranteed price predictor
  • A complete stash importer
  • An automatic flipping system
  • A market manipulation detector
  • A trade-queue manager
  • A record of confirmed sale prices

It creates a faster path from an in-game item to relevant pricing information. The user still selects criteria and evaluates results.

A Reliable Pricing Routine

For better consistency:

  1. Verify league and item data.
  2. Search the most important properties first.
  3. Review multiple close comparisons.
  4. Ignore obvious outliers.
  5. Broaden the search if results are scarce.
  6. Narrow it if results are too generic.
  7. Recheck valuable items after patches or league changes.
  8. Price conservatively when evidence is limited.

This approach is slower than copying the cheapest listing, but it produces a more defensible estimate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Exiled Exchange 2 an official Grinding Gear Games tool?

No. It is a community-developed overlay and a fork of Awakened PoE Trade.

Is this website the official tool website?

No. This is an independent guide site. Use Kvan7’s project page and GitHub repository for official downloads.

Does the tool buy or sell items automatically?

No. It assists with price checking and trade searches; it does not complete trades.

Why are rare-item prices inconsistent?

Rare items combine multiple rolls and properties, so exact comparisons may be scarce. Search important modifiers and evaluate several nearby results.

Where should I report a reproducible bug?

Search the official GitHub issues. If no report matches, provide version, system, league, language, reproduction steps, and screenshots.

Final Checklist

Before relying on a price check:

  • The installer came from an official source
  • The application is current
  • Path of Exile 2 and the correct league are selected
  • The item was parsed correctly
  • Important modifiers are included
  • Several comparable listings were reviewed
  • Outliers were not treated as confirmed market value

Used this way, Exiled Exchange 2 is a practical POE 2 companion: it reduces the work needed to build a relevant search while leaving the final pricing decision with the player.
